If you bought a light up sign or cutting board from us, we have some instructions for keeping them like new for years.
Cutting boards:
It is important to remember that most, if not all, wooden cutting boards are made with water-resistant glue, not water-proof glue. After every use, wash your cutting board with hot water and a sponge, with soap or a liquid dish detergent, but not with a product intended for the dishwasher. Place the cutting board on edge in a dish drainer or hand dry with a dish towel. Never leave a wooden cutting board soaking unattended in a sink or dish pan. Never put a wooden cutting board in a dishwasher. If you do, the surface of the board will become rough and the glue joints WILL eventually fail.
If you use a board often and it begins to look dry or dull, apply a generous coat of a food-safe mineral oil finish. Wait a few minutes and wipe off every trace. The idea is to protect the wood, but not allow the oil to build up. Don’t use vegetable oil or olive oil; they get sticky and go rancid after a while. There is no “rule of thumb” on how often you should refresh the finish, but certainly at least 2-3 times each year.
Instructions
Start with a clean board. Be sure your cutting board is as clean as possible and thoroughly dry.
Apply the oil. Using a clean, soft cloth or paper towel, apply the oil in an even layer over the wood.
Let it soak in. Leave the oil to soak in, overnight if possible, or for at least a few hours.
Remove the excess. If the board feels oily or sticky, buff off any remaining oil with a clean dry cloth or paper towel. Enjoy your beautiful wooden boards!
After a while your board will begin to show knife marks. The beauty of a wood cutting board is that you can make it look like new simply by sanding it. Take a piece of 120 grit sandpaper and sand thoroughly until the marks are gone. Finish sanding with a piece of 220 grit sandpaper to make it smooth and soft, then follow the instructions above to reapply the oil. With a little bit of love, your board should last for many years.

Thanks so much for purchasing this hand crafted HOME sign. We hope you love it as much as we love them and love making them. This multi-function controller allows you to do some really fun things with your LED lights. To start, you can choose from 20 static color options. You do this by clicking the COLOR button at the bottom of your controller. Each click switches the color. There are some beautiful reds and blues, and a whole range in between! It also has 19 modes of operation. These ranging from simply flashing on a color, to flashing through all the colors, to sort of a swirling effect through the colors. You can find these modes by hitting the MODE button. Once it gets to the one you like (the swirling is our favorite) you simply stop hitting the button at the top of your controller. The button in the middle serves three functions. It is labeled as SPEED/BRIGHTNESS. It does both of those. In whatever MODE you choose, you can adjust how fast or slow it does whatever it is doing. (Confusing?) So if it is flashing, but it is too fast, you can slow it down, or vice versa. If you have it on a static color, you can make it dimmer or brighter, according to what you prefer. That button is also the power button. Hold it for a second and it will shut the lights off. Hit it, and it will turn them on.
